sports massage

Sports massage is increasingly becoming recognised as a skill which can enhance performance and aid recovery.

It is an effective therapy for releasing muscle tension and restoring balance to the musculo-skeletal system. A build up of tension in the muscles can lead to stresses on ligaments, tendons, joints and the muscles themselves.

Sports massage is not just for elite athletes. Anyone taking part in sport, physical exercise or experiencing physical symptoms from postural problems or forms of stress can benefit.

It can be used to aid recovery from injury, prevent injury, or be used as part of a long-term training programme.

Sports massage is a form of massage which focuses on muscle systems used in athletic activities. It combines Swedish style massage with trigger point compression and electro-neuro-muscular techniques to reduce soreness and help enhance power, endurance and flexibility.
