This form of exercise concetrates on the deep abdominal muscles and back muscles. One to one sessions are ideal for those who want an individually tailored programme or who can’t commit to weekly classes. Your instructor will lead you through a programme of exercises designed to challenge and develop your core stability, mobility and control working within your own capabilities. If you want to exercise with a friend we can also offer 2:2:1 and 3:2:1 sessions.
Beginner and more advanced classes are run in six-week blocks. The classes will allow you to progress your exercises when you are ready under the guidance of your instructor. With a maximum of 12 people in a class your instructor will check your technique throughout each session to ensure you get the benefit and see improvements. It is recommended that you attend an introductory session before your first class to help you get the most out of Pilates. This 60-minute session will give you an opportunity to explore how the Pilates method can benefit you, discuss your medical history and any injuries or pain that you may have had, and practice some of the Pilates moves.
This is a higher-level Pilates class, designed for fit, healthy and active individuals. Offered on a one-to-one and small group basis, sessions are tailored specifically to you and the biomechanical requirements of your sport. Performance Pilates is designed to be used as part of your strength and conditioning training to help prevent injuries, target muscle imbalances and improve overall performance. If you are looking to improve skill, strength and performance in your sport a programme of Performance Pilates can help you achieve your goals and assist in keeping you injury free.
